Preamble

The Tenno Heika, having reunited all the rightful Nipponic territories under the Dai-Nippon Teikoku banners, having no more animosity against the Joseon governants, and willing to forgive them for their attemped attacks on the Nipponic people, accepts the Joseon requests to end the hostilities, on the following terms.

The Joseon governants accepts the following terms as just and, thanking the Tenno heika for His benevolence in not carrying over the harsher retribution they'll rightly deserve, oblige themselves to follow them dutifully.

On the Dai-Nippon Teikoku - Joseon Kingdom relations

II. The Joseon Kingdom recognizes the Liaodong peninsula as territory open to the Nipponic settlement and obliges itself not to impede development of those industrial and commercial activities the Dai-Nippon Teikoku will find necessary for the development of those settlements, recognizing the Yalu river as the limit of the Nipponic settlement zone.

III. The Joseon Kingdom recognizes the precedence of Nipponic interests in the territories open to Nipponic settlement over the Korean ones, and obliges itself to recede whereas its interest will collide with the Nipponic ones.

IV. The Dai-Nippon Teikoku obliges itself to give protection and assistance to the Joseon Kingdom in case of external and internal aggression, whereas should be found appropriate to do so by the Tenno Heika and his counselors.

V. The Dai-Nippon Teikoku obliges itself to guarantee the rights of indipendence and territorial integrity of the Joseon Kingdom in the face of external and internal aggression.

VI. The Tenno Heika and the Joseon King, should disputes or conflicts arise between Their nations over problems of one kind or another, oblige Themselves to settle these disputes or conflicts exclusively through friendly exchange of opinion or, if necessary, through the establishment of arbitration commissions.

VII. Whereas not clearly stated, the precedent dispositions take precedence over any subsequent or precedent treaty in regulating the Dai-Nippon Teikoku - Joseon Kingdom relations.

On military dispositions

VIII. The Joseon Kingdom obliges itself to not enter military alliances of any nature with foreign powers.

IX. The Joseon Kingdom obliges itself to not aquire foreign built warships.

X. The Dai-Nippon Teikoku will despatch observation missions to Korean harbour cities, to vigilate on the state of the Joseon Kingdom fleet.

XI. The Joseon Kingdom won't impede the movement of said military missions, and the Joseon King will take personal responsability of their incolumity, taking any necessary measure to protect them.

XII. The Joseon Kingdom obliges itself to demolish any harbour defence existing in its territory, and to not rebuild them for the period of 60 years.

XIII. The Dai-Nippon Teikoku will take the guns and mortars from the demolished harbour defenses, and after having rendered them unworkable, will transport them to the Arsenal of Hiroshima, were they will be demolished under Joseon Kingdom observation.

XIV. The Dai-Nippon Teikoku obliges itself to lift the limitations of articles VII and XII, in the face of a clear menace to the integrity and indipendence of the Joseon Kingdom.

On economical reparations

XV. The Joseon Kingdom Obliges itself to transfer gold for the sum of 60 CU to the Nipponic Imperial Treasury, to amend for the nipponic losses caused during the war by their non acceptance of the just and benevolent ultimatum issued by the Tenno Heika.

XVI. On the transfer of the gold, the Nipponic men at arms will leave the city of Busan.

Final dispositions

XVII. The Dai-Nippon Teikoku is the only party entitled to enforce the terms of the treaty, by all the means considered necessary and just by itself.

XVIII. Third parties are allowed to enforce the treaty terms after having received permission to do so by the Tenno Heika.

XIX. Whereas the Joseon Kingdom should willingly violate the treaty terms, it accepts any action by the the Dai-Nippon Teikoku or by eventual third parties to enforce the treaty terms as necessary and just.

XX. Whereas not clearly stated, the terms of the treaty are to be considered valid in eternal.

Addendum

The Tenno Heika, whishing nothing more than a durature peace between the peoples of Korea and Nippon, reserves for Himself and His successors the right to void the treaty or selected parts of it, with the hope that, after the time had healed the wounds of the war, cordial relations could be estabilished once more between the Dai-Nippon Teikoku and the Joseon Kingdom.
