The Federated Desert States of Victoria agree to swear fealty to the King of Fermatia; Empire of Calcania declared

Today the Federated Desert States of Victoria have, after a referendum, agreed to renounce their independence and join Fermatia unto a new empire, ruled by Emperor Remus I Ormus.

The terms of the vassalization are lenient, as Victoria has to only pay 10% of their income and help the newly formed empire with 10% of their state workforce if a major project appears, while 30% of the military has been integrated into the new Imperial Army. The Kingdom of Fermatia's government has been directly annexed to the Empire's, and will function as such as well as with representation from the Victorians, while the Victorians are allowed to do as they will in their internal affairs, as well as some of their external affairs. Another advantage for the two countries is that technologies will now flow more fluently between the two, and as such both countries will benefit.

The ceremony of swearing fealty shall take place soon, in the Fermatian, now also Calcanian, capital.
