Bullettin of the Njegošljan Infrastructural and Research Department

In collaboration with the Kutan Academy of Sciences, the Imperial Njegošljan Air Force has began work to turn the airbase on Lumin island into a test site for new propulsion systems. The island has been chosen for its location away from populated areas and the lack of resident population.

A new project of industrialization of the Border Provinces has started, calling for the contruction in the next year of a number of industrial centres. Those state sponsored ventures will generate private initiative around them, starting a virtous circle of development.

The NIAF announced that a new high performance jet interceptor, the B-120, has passed ARMSCOR procurement tests, and has entered operational tests with the First Evaluation Unit.

The plane is armed with two 23 mm high velocity cannons and with anti air rocket pods. The precise performance data of the plane are still secret, but it has bene reported as capable of breaking the so called "sound barrier" in level flight at less than 1000 m altitude, being the third vehicle capable of doping so.

It has also been reported that one of such vehicles is undergoing extensive modifications to turn it into an high altitude and high speed research vehicle.

The ARMSCOR ADdvanced Research Division has unveilied today the B-120-X Brzina, a flying testbed for cutting edge aeronautic technologies.

The B-120-X aongside his conventional brother, the B-120, in the background:

The plane, derived from the B-120 interceptor, sports a number of radical modifications, the most visible of which is the complete redesign of the wings. This design, dubbed "arrowhead", enables the plane to reach unprecedented speeds. The other chief modification is the engine, completely rebuild and modified with new technical innovations, increasing the power output by a twofold factor.

The plane, while a technological marvel, is indeed not a production example: the sheer power of the engine is simply too much for contemporary materials to handle, and it needs a virtually complete rebuilding after each flight. Nonetheless, this plane will help developing new materials and contruction techniques, while investigating flight characteristics at high speed and high altitudes.

In it's first test run, the plane setted a new speed record, by reaching Mach 1.43 at sea level and by breaking the Mach 2 barrier at an altitude of 9000 meters.

With much fanfare and celebration, the Njegošljan Ministry of Merchant Navy presented the NS Okeanski, developed in collaboration with the Kutan Academy of Science. The ship, a fine example of modernity and an engineering marvel by itself, is the first practical application of atomic energy: powered by a forever burning core of fissile material, the ship will be able to roam the seas of Kerbin as an herald of technology and progress, and a demonstration of the peaceful civilian use of nuclear power, in a world where warmongering voices are raising.

The ship will start line service as soon as the test cycles are completed, and she will be the General Governor flagship for representation purposes.

The B-120-X Brzina broke another speed record, by smashing the Mach 4 barrier at the record altitude of 23000 meters.

While the plane has reched its operational limits, the information gained from it will surely help in designing the next generation of supersonic fighter planes.
