Oresean Air Force Performs Supersonic Flight!

Earlier today, Oresean Air Defense Force test pilot Seward Tobias stepped into the X-86, a new test aircraft designed to break the sound barrier. Tobias took off without a problem and flew his aircraft over the ocean, and went full throttle. After about a minute, Tobias' plane successfully achieved supersonic flight!

Later in the flight, the aircraft achieved its top speed of 517 meters per second, which translates to Mach 1.5.

Picture Tobias took of his cockpit:

Later in the flight, when Tobias was returning to an air force base, a chaser plane flew alongside him and took this picture.

Picture of the X-86:

The data taken from this flight and later flights of the X-86 will help Oresean scientists understand how aerodynamics works at high speeds and will help with developing a new fighter capable of supersonic flight.

Oresea Enters the Space Race!

Today at the newly constructed Deassic Space Center, a joint center constructed in Vyrux by Vyrux, Oresea, and Canstana, the newly-designed Arkovos rocket lifted off at tremendous speeds. The solid rocket on the first stage quickly sent the rocket to the edge of the atmosphere, and the liquid fuel second stage further accelerated the rocket to it's apoapsis of 700 kilometers. The rocket flight was just suborbital, but the information gained from this flight will help the Deassic Space Agency with orbital flights, and soon, to help put astronauts in orbit.

Oresea Places Satellite into Orbit!

Today at the Deassic Space Center in Vyrux, another Arkovos rocket lifted off. The launch was uneventful, much like the first, but the rocket was successfully guided into an orbital trajectory. A small Oresean probe is now flying in an equitorial orbit, with an periapsis of roughly 300 km and an apoapsis of roughly 1,000 km. The probe has enough battery life to transmit for the next few days.

Another Oresean Probe in Orbit!

Today, a third Arkovos rocket launched out of Vyrux. This probe was a copy of the probe launched last month, and allowed the ground control to hone their skills in successfully placing material in orbit.

Thanks to this launch, scientists have stated that they've figured out how to throttle the liquid fuel engine on the second stage. This will allow us to make perfect spherical orbits between 72 km and 2,400 km, depending on the weight of the payload.

Communication Network In Place!

Earlier this month, two new launchpads were added to the Deassic Space Center. Throughout this week, the Deassic Space Agency has been launching four Arkovos rockets from the four launchpads at the space center, to construct a communications network. Today, the final rocket has lifted off, and the network is now in place.

Picture of the Launch:

The new relay network is now sitting in a near-perfect 500km x 500km orbit; two satellites are opposite of each other around the equator while the other two are opposite of each other in a polar orbit.

Released concept art of the communications satellite:

Also, after realizing that nobody has taken a picture of the Arkovos rocket on the ground, the government has taken an official picture.

Oresean Astronaut in Space!

This morning, the first rocket of the Arvios program took off, with Oresean astronaut Thorvald Mitja sitting on top.

Mitja, along with the other astronauts chosen for the Arvios program, were put through rigorous training for the past few months, memorizing all functions of the rocket and what to do in the event of every emergency. All astronauts were chosen out of the Royal Air Force's selection of test pilots, so everyone was already bringing a lot of experience with them.

Arvios-1 soon after launch:

As the rocket was gaining altitude, a chaser aircraft's pilot successfully took this picture from his cockpit.

Arvios-1 as seen from chaser aircraft:

The rocket reached a maximum apoapsis of 140 km before the rocket ran out, and the capsule decoupled from the rocket without incident. While suborbital, Mitja took a picture from his capsule, showing the Glarus Confederation from orbit as he passed by.

Picture from the capsule.:

Arvios-1 re-entered the atmosphere west of Keshobia, and had a pinpoint landing 20 km off the coast of Kraterrnia. A helicopter quickly found the capsule, and brought it along with Mitja back to the island.

Oresean Astronaut in Orbit!

Earlier today, the second rocket of the Arvios program, Arvios 2, launched off from the Deassic Space Center. Astronaut Dan Caelen was in the flight.

Picture of the launch, from a chaser aircraft:

Caelen and Arvios 2 successfully achieved a stable 75 x 75km orbit, and orbited Kerbin 7 times. During this period, Caelan took a picture of Vyrux from space.

Vyrux from space:

Caelan fired the rocket's engine over the Njegošljan desert, and in a remarkable landing, landed on a Vyruxian beach! It is reported that Caelen exited his capsule and had pictures taken with nearby families until he was picked up by a Vyruxian government limo.

Oresean Astronaut Performs First EVA!

Just a few short days after the Arvios-2 launch, the Arvios-3 mission took off from the Deassic Space Center, this time with none other than former test pilot Seward Tobias in the cockpit.

The launch was standard, and Arvios-3 acheived a 76 x 80 km orbit. After his second orbit around Kerbin, Tobias put on his newly designed extra-vehicular space suit, opened the hatch, and went outside, the world's first kerbal to do so. Originally he was tethered to the capsule, but he decided to break off and put his faith in the experimental jetpack he was wearing. The risk paid off, because it worked. Tobias spent the next thirty minutes playing out in space, flying laps around his capsule. From 50m away he took this picture of the Arvios-3 craft from his helmet's camera. In the background is the Safeneian peninsula.

Arvios-3 from helmet cam:

Tobias spent the night in orbit and is the first kerbal to eat dinner in space. When it was morning in the Wakirian Ocean, he fired the remainder of his rocket's fuel and started reentry due north of Espanjanto. He achieved another pinpoint landing a few kilometers off the coast of Kraterrnia, much like Arvios 1, and another helicopter picked him up and brought him to the island.

Oresean Astronauts Perform First Orbital Rendezvous!

Two days ago, Arvios-4, piloted by Weldon Triston, launched off from the Deassic Space Center. It achieved a nominal 78 x 78 km orbit. The following day, Arvios-5, piloted by Edvin Morgan, launched as well. Each capsule was specially designed without a parachute on top. Instead, there was a module with RCS fuel as well as some RCS engines and a docking port. Don't worry, there were parachutes on the side instead.

Arvios-5 launched while Arvios-4 was over the Glarusean continent, and achieved an orbital speed just a few kilometers away from Arvios-4. Then, both astronauts switched off their liquid fuel rockets and started docking procedures. The docking was frustrating for all parties; Triston and Morgan spent half an hour trying to dock before they entered the night side of Kerbin, so they gave up and waited until they were over the day side again, then continued their mission. This time around, they successfully docked! This marks another world first completed by the Deassic Space Agency.

The docking ports were only for testing, so they weren't big enough for the astronauts to fit through. Instead, both astronauts equipped their EVA gear and went out. While outside the capsule, Morgan flew out and took a picture of Triston, Arvios-4 and -5, along with Kraterrnia in the background.

Picture of Arvios 4 and 5:

Arvios-4 and -5 spent the following day in orbit, and when it was nearing sunset in Kraterrnia, they undocked and fired retrograde over the west coast of the Wakirian Ocean. Arvios 4 splashed down on the east coast of Kraterrnia, while Arvios 5 splashed down off the east. They were picked up without difficulty.

Arkina Space Station in Orbit! First Ever Space Station!

Today was an exciting day at the Deassic Space Center, as the space agency launched the first Anorik rocket! This rocket is the largest built to date, containing a large lower stage with tall solid rocket boosters along with the world's biggest rocket engine powering the lower stage's ascent into a suborbital trajectory. The payload is even more exciting: the Arikna Space Station!  For the past month, Oresean engineers have been designing a habitable module for astronauts to have extended stays in orbit in. Extra funding from Vyrux and Canstana helped it happen, too!

Anorik & Arkina launch:

The space agency took a risk by not testing the rocket before strapping a very expensive payload to it, but it turned out to be alright. The Arkina Space Station now sits in a stable 82km equatorial orbit. The launch was umnanned, and a manned module is expected to launch next week.

Concept art:

First Crew Enters Arikina!

Today, the first Arkiniv mission, Arkiniv-1, took off from Vyrux. This mission, unlike previous manned missions, had space for three astronauts. Since the Anorik rocket is so big, it can hold a much larger payload, so now three-man crews can go into space! Since funding for the mission was brought in by Vyrux and Canstana, Vyruxian and Canstanan astronauts were chosen from the ranks of their air forces and trained in the Oresean astronaut complexes. The mission's roster is: Oresean astronaut, and first Oresean in space, Thorvald Mitja, Vyruxian astronaut Marin Iason, and Canstanan astronaut Vaso Tarse.

Arkiniv-1 on the pad:

The launch went smoothly, and the rocket achieved supersonic speeds just a few kilometers up, which let spectators hear an up-close sonic boom. Multiple car alarms went off.

Arkiniv-1 launch:

Arkiniv-1 reached orbital speeds nearby Arkina, but waited until they were over the sunrise in the Wakirian Ocean to dock. After ten minutes, they successfully docked to the station, marking another achievement in the space agency and Kerbal history.

After getting settled in and waiting until daytime again, the three equipped their space suits and went on EVA. Mitja went out around 20 meters and took a picture of Iason and Tarse, with MSUKFTCS in the background.

Arkina Space Station:

In the leftmost section of the Arkina station, after re-entering the station, Mitja took a picture of their spectacular view out one of the windows.

View from space:

The Arkiniv-1 crew will stay at the Arkina station for the next three months. Then, they'll undock from the station and land, either off the coast of Vyrux or Kraterrnia. (That is only a few weeks in the kerbal calander)

Second Crew Onboard Arkina!

A few months ago, the crew of Arkiniv-1 undocked from Arkina Space Station and landed safely at Kraterrnia. Earlier this month, Arikiniv-2 launched to replace them. Much like last time, the crew composed of one Oresean, Erik Conrad, a Vyruxian, Sanford Vedran, and a Canstanan, Consus Edvin. The Arkiniv-2 crew launched and docked successfully, and they are expected to stay on board Arkina for the next six months, a longer stay that Arkiniv-1.

Final Crew Onboard Arkina!

Multiple years have passed since the crew of Arkiniv-2 splashed down off the coast of Vyrux. Yesterday, the Arkiniv-3 rocket launched from the DSC, and this mission will be the final one to the Arkina space station. The crew of this mission is Oresean Dan Caelen, Vyruxian Adam Gustave, and Canstanan Servius Tendai. Much like Arkiniv-2, Arkiniv-3 will be staying onboard Arkina for six months.

The Deassiac Space Agency has announced that after the completion of the final Arkiniv mission, the space program's focus will switch to placing kerbs on the Mun and Minmus.
