Kahlawian 2500 Years Jubilee of the Empire

Manter raises his glass in a toast but says nothing.

The banquet, lavish but still traditional, goes forward for hours. The guests are served with small boiled blue eggs stuffed with Nantuan mousse, a delicate seafood soup, roasted game and fishes, and as dessert a cake shaped and colored like the Kahlaw dinastic crown, all of this while being entertrained by musicians and dancers.

After that, while the guests are enjoing some fine fumarellos and a glass of wine, the Shahanshah turn towards the Sgerlinen delegate. "So, Mr. Hessenstras, I'm being informed that our embassy in your country is picking up strange tv transmissions. Are you transmitting a new kind of war films, or we should worry about the safety of your people?"

"Ah, don't worry you. It is just a small incident, our beloved leader will soon get rid of those terrorists."

"Our intel says this is more then a small incident. Casualties greater then a 100 thousand. Rebels are occupying more then half of your land"

"Haha, lies. Our beloved leader is in control, nothing is wrong in our lands."

"I am sure the Kahlawian delegate has similar reports"

"Just lies by the terrorists to make them look strong."

"We are of a different advice. We feel that your nation is facing a deep, deep crisis. Your goverment should be preapared to change if it wants to remain in existence."

"There is no need to change. Our government has worked just fine the last 50 years."

"50 years is nothing compared to the long lifespan of your nation."

"We were not a nation before our beloved leader came to power. In fact, time and space did not really exist."

"Even our so called "tyronic" government does not brainwash our people. Time and space did exist before your nation"

Manter snorts loudly. "I'm pretty damn sure space and time did. Your leader is not the bastion of light. He is a normal kerb, blessed nigh by Gods and fate."

Manter widens his eyes is disbelief. He looks around the table, looking if anyone else shares his reaction, then settles down in his chair chuckling quietly.

"We should start soon. I am almost out of cigarettes."
