Distress Call Empty Re: Distress Call

In dusk, on several airbases, on several undisclosed locations in Kahlawia a radio operator recieves the codewords "Blaue, blaue, blaue!". The operator quickly notify his superior and the superior press the alarm.

More than a thousand Segerlien elite forces scramble to their respective cargo aircraft, and the last artilery pieces gets loaded aboard. One by one the aircrafts take off from the runway. They regroup at a rendevouz point just by the Kahlawian eastern coast together with three squadrons of Kahlawian fighters.

The armada sets course for the airport in Devizes and land one by one at the airport, and then take off and fly away once they have been unloaded.

The soldiers that now are at the airport wear balaclavas and have ripped off their identification numbers from their uniforms. The troops quickly secures the airfield and forces the Oxyuthar staff is escorted to a big hangar. The troops start diging in with sandbags and building foxholes surrounding the airport.

All personel that is found at the airport that is not Kahlawian or Segerlinen troops are searched for weapons and radios or other harmful equipment before being let into the hangar.

A detachment of troops are sent in armoured cars into the capital itself. In the middle of the night a convoy i sent out and splits of at a crossroad. The troops are sent to all radio and tv buildings in the capital. The civilians inside aren't harmed or even touched unless they attack the troops. They simply carry out their work under the eye of their guardians. The soldiers does not answer any question or speak to anyone at all except between themself, and they only speak between themself it is really necessary. After the buildings are secured, the troops baricades the buildings and close of the roads outside them with roadblocks.

A fleet sporting the Kahlawian Navy flags emerges from the mists of the morning outside the Weathshore coast. Some of the ships enter the harbors and start unloading tanks and armored troop carriers, while the soldiers clear the city from eventual menaces, and proceed to clear the city, acting on the government mandate. A small incident erupts when a police patrol, eventually uninformed of their arrival, opens fire on the kahlawian marines, wounding one. The soldiers, norvously waiting for the contact with terrorists, open immediately fire on the police officers, killing all seven of them. To avoid further incidents, the local police is disarmed.

After the vehicles terminated unloading, the four regiments move in defensive positions outside the city and start digging themselves in for the night.

Meanwhile, additional troops depart Kahlawia. The 4th Division makes his way to the island on s fleet of commandeered ferries, while the divisional anti tank artillery and the 14th Infantry Regiment are airlifted directly in Devizes, reinforce the garrison, and prepare the airport for the arrival of the planes from the Jeneslar Command. In the twilight light, the first fighters and light bombers start touching the tarmac runway, before being herded into cover.

Another detachment of troops from the airport gets the greenlight to proceed with the operation. Yet again a convoy leaves the airport towards the capital. With the news of the incident with the police, the Segerlinen troops gets the order to disarm the police in the capital aswell. The police station are seized just like the radio and tv stations were earlier. The parliament building and any administrative building that works for the government in general is secured. Local schools are secured and closed, to be turend into barracks. Local hospitals are also secured, but with no civilians being escorted. The local powerplant is secured and any guards who might guard the plant is disarmed.

Defensive positions are dug around the capital as the soldiers wait out the night.

Alot of reinforcements has arrived from Segerline and the troop numbers are estimated to about 4 000 in total. Two Segerlinen ships also joined the peacekeeping fleet.

The first major operation was about to begin. In Kahlawian and Segerlinen barracks, briefings was being held showing all kinds of graphs, maps and aerial photos.

Convoys of both Kahlawian and Segerlinen nationalities was sent out to various objectives. Kahlawian marines headed to the port in which OKS Devizes was laying. They dismounted close to the ship and told everyone onboard to surrender.

The Segerlinen convoy headed out to the capital and the port city. Detachments from the convoy dismounted at factories that produced military equipment and forced every factory worker out from the factory. They also seized armories and supply depots in the cities and their outskirts.

Yet another detachment of Segerlinen troops was sent to the homes of suspected or known extremists that may have affiliation with terrorists or rebel groups. They were all detained and sent back to the airfield.

By this time a crowd of Oxuythar protestors had gathered to protest the crackdowns. Riot military police has been sent out to contain the crowd.

"The distress call that we sent was to take out the rebels, not to seize our defenses! But if you must, shoot all of us. It will be in Kahlawia's name of the downfall of Oxuythar!" one of the protesters says.

The troops disperse the crowd with tear gas and detain the most violent protestors. Then they move in to seize the ship.

At the peacekeeping force headquarter, the Kahlawian General in charge of the operation looked quite baffled. "Let me say it again. A rioting civilian crowd made his way into a Navy base, bypassing military security, barbed wire fences, guard posts and all the likes without being stopped?"

"Yes, sir."

"That's impossible! They let them inside? Where on Kerbin were the Oxuytharan guards??"

"We don't know, sir. Probably they left to join the rebel army, somehow."

Sighing. "Fine. Put every single military installation, armory and fuel depot in our reach under strict surveillance. For good measure, tell the Segerlinen to contnue occupy the factories, Kreatsu knows that we don't want saboteurs around... Or an indipendent Oxuytharan army. And tell the flyboys to move their asses and start those damn recon flights, I need to know where are those troops."

"Yes, sir."

-----

Fifteen minutes later, the first planes start taking off from Devizes International. The second 10 planes flight set their course south, directed to the location of the main miltary base on the island. Surely, it would be irreal to expect the rebels hiding themselves in the most obvious place, but still no options must be left unexplored.
