National Focus Vote Empty National Focus Vote

Post by dogon11 Mon Jun 16, 2014 6:27 pm

I wrote up a national focus system, and I'd like to get a vote on it from you guys whether you want to implement it or not.

Here it is:
National Focus :

Hmm, I see a disturbing level of possible abuse on the agricultural focus.

It's actually the exact same income as the economic focus.

Did the economic focus really result in massive population growth?

Appe, do the actual math behind them.
Econ:
No PP bonus.
For MK, divide your population by 18,000 instead of 20,000 for tax income. Round to the tenths.
No MP bonus.
For growth, only add 200,000 each cycle versus 250,000. Population cap is 2,250,000.

2,250,000/18,000 equals tax income.
2,250,000/18,000 equals 125mk.

Ag:
No PP bonus.
For MK, instead of dividing your population by 20,000, divide by 22,000 for tax income. Round to the tenths.
No MP bonus.
For growth, add 300,000 each cycle. Population cap is 2,750,000.

Divide 2,750,000 by 22,000. That is 125mk.

The only difference is in how you use each system. Go economic and try to expand your population to the max? Go agricultural, and build a system for defense that relies on a large population to draw a military from?

Yes, but when you have expanded your population like rabbits on viagra. Then you can just change focus, and there now you are the most populus nation on Kerbin.

The population cap changes, you can no longer support the extra people, and they leave or starve off.

I think military should have the same PP amount. You can get soldiers to build stuff and have military scientists, right?  And science stuff others mentioned

Also add an in between option.

Getting the soldiers to build stuff instead of training beats the point of militaristic focus. That's just industrial.

Honestly, there's no point in inbetween options. Sure, we'd all want the advantages of more than one focus, however that's what makes it unbalanced. This system dogon has proposed is fine.

Science focus maybe? And also maybe add 1 capo for infrastructure for each focus? For the agricultural infras. add 1 cap for agricultural focus etc.

Does this replace the normal infrastructure? This is way better and more simple.

Look through the U of R; this has already been implemented. The old taxation, population growth, infrastructure et.c. systems are gone.
