Declaration of the Rightful Overseas Territories of the Irlandic Crown

On this day, the first of January, in the Year of Our Father Eighteen-Hundred and Nought, His Royal Majesty Magnus the Sixth Magnusson, by Grace of the Allfather King of Irland and the Isles, Jarl of Dyflin and of Søreyar and of Grønland and of Island and of Orkney and of Mann and of Føroyar and of Hetland, Lord of Vinland and of Bjørnland and of Fjelland and of Gressland and of Karland, Defender of the Faith and Protector of the Realm, hereby makes the following lawful declaration in the eyes of the Trinity and his subjects.

Since time undocumented, it has been the tradition of the Norseman to explore, to reach out and to colonise those lands which by his own hand he has found. It being well known that the continent of North America was discovered by the Crown of this fair kingdom, I hereby lay my rightful and lawful claim down upon the continent, from the Neck of America, commonly known as Panama and northward to Vinland and Bjørnland.
It being to my knowledge that peoples have settled upon this land, I offer them similar status to all my subjects, with the provision that they swear fealty to the Crown and to myself.
The land of North America is the possession of the Crown of the Kingdom of Irland and the Isles, by Divine Right and Right of Discovery. This declaration I place above the declaration made by myself on the first day of January in the Year of Our Father Seventeen-Hundred and Ninety-Six, it being now clear to myself that the extent of the rightful and lawful lands of the Crown extend past the boundaries outlined in the original declaration.

It is also known to the Crown and myself that there are other rulers who have laid unlawful claims to these territories. To them I say only this: I believe that it is within your rights to hold those territories that you hold lawful claim over, and see no reason to contest these. However, I expect the same degree of respect, as is fitting to my stature. I will not tolerate any transgression on the rightful and lawful claims of the Irlandic Crown. Renounce these unlawful transgressions, and there will be peace. Fail to do so, and I will be forced to act in accordance with the laws of the realm and defend that territory which is constituent to the realm overseas.

I give four years for these unlawful claims to be retracted before further action must be taken, though it is my dearest wish that war never come between the kingdoms of Europe in this way.

We do not respect your claims, but we will not interfere with them for the time being.

As faithful allies to the Kingdom of Irland and the Isles, we, the United Kingdom of Scandinavia and The Danelaw stand firmly beside our Nordic brethren, in order to help enforce these claims, the rightful claims of our own, and other nations wishing to colonise for the greater benefit of Europe.

We respect these claims, as long as they do not reach out of north America.

We have no plans for the "North American" lands.

We request confirmation on the Irlandic Crown's stance on territorial claims of the West Indies.

We assume you refer to the Carribean. Take them.

The Empire of Francia will recognize such ambitious claims to entire continents when the claimed lands are actually colonized and populated by the people of your nation. Until then, these declarations are little more than empty words.

That said, His Majesty the Emperor Louis XVI holds no current plans for the establishment of colonies in the New World.

We agree with Francias words, however we are looking at the possibilities of another attempt at colonizing South America. But even so we wont claim the whole continent, merely where we would live.

Think before you question the strength of our claims.It ought to go without saying that we back our words with steel.

Your words may be backed with steel, but the lands you lay claim to remain yet untouched in large part by both your words and your steel. Until this changes your claims will remain unacknowledged, threats or no.
