Italian Families and their Political Influence
This paper should be interpreted as a mere guide for foreigners or others not fluent in the political scene of the Italian Peninsula and Surrounding Bishoprics, not at all a political statement of these families.
Conservatives
A old and established faction with no real need intoduction. All paths of lives have Conservatives, and they keep a political stability amongst the Peninsula.

Incorrectly named, this faction is a largely religiously-based community revolving around a stronger unity between Italy and the Roman Empire. Cited by conservative or independent parties as wanting the country as a Roman vassal, this faction is largely unpopular in Northern Italy and other areas, with it's main base being in Sicily and the traditional Byzantine territories in Italy.

Patriots
A reactionary ideology popular amongst a small minority, Patriots are a mobile and armed faction that fights for both a loosening of ties between Italy and Roman Empires and a breaking away of various Bishoprics. They have caused mischeif amongst local governments, but with the increasing of Pentarchal ties between the aforementioned governments they have began staging larger attacks, largest being the sinking of the Sardinian galley Persia.

A faction with countless sub-branches, this political force has existed throught the ages but has assumed a new guise with the beginnings of Democracy in the New World. Consisted of artisans and the poor, or those who consider themselves to be, they fight for an alleged better future and the downfall of the rich and the Pentarchy.
