We propose that Nations have a set border of territorial waters where other nations may not pass through without proper permission.

Not claiming the entire ocean is common sense, and ones claiming and anothers recognition is different

We feel as if merchants coming to dock in Terripana shall only be able to access the civilian docks by approaching from the east. Access to our waters near the military facilities and Palace is strictly denied without permission from the TDC Vanity. Changes will be made to the map to facilitate what we mean.

We second this statement. If this treaty is to be implemented, it must be implemented in a standardized and univocal way.

Treaty of Territorial Waters

1. The sovereignty of a coastal state shall be defined in Figure 1.
   a. This sovereignty extends to the airspace over the sea, as well as the seabed and soil.
2. All states, shall enjoy free passage through any territorial water so long as:
   a. Passage will be continuous and expeditious.
      i. Stopping and Anchoring will only be allowed in emergency situations.
   b. Passage of the foreign ship does not partake in the following activities:
      i. Any threat, or use of force against the sovereignty or independence of a state.
      ii. Exercise, or practice using weapons of any kind.
      iii. Launching, landing, or taking on board of any aircraft or military device.
      iv. Unloading, loading, dumping of any cargo, currency or kerbs.
         A. Or anything contrary to state regulation or laws.
      v. Any fishing.
      vi. Any purpose for the collection of information, or the disruption of communication.
         A. No Research or Surveys contrary to the will of the state.
         B. Propaganda aimed at the defense or security of the state.
   c. all submarines will:
      i. Be surfaced at all times while in transit of territorial waters.
      ii. Show their flag at all times.
   d. Ships will not stray out of designated sea-lanes arranged by the state.
3. Rules of Warships in Territorial Waters:
   a. A warship is any ship belonging to the armed forces of a state, with appropriate markings indicating it's nationality.
   b. If a warship does not comply with the laws and regulations concerning the passage of a coastal state:
      i. Coastal State may require the warship to leave territorial waters immediately.
      ii. Said warship bears all responsibility for any damage caused by the non-compliance of this treaty.
      iii. Coastal State may perform any action up to, and including the removal of the warship by force from it's water.

We find these terms acceptable.

We would still like to insist that a countries waters is its own problems, one could claim the entire ocean, but good luck patroling it and not gating hated on. Why do we have to globalize this?

As for Kyux, we neee a global agreement on territorial waters so a incident such as the sunk destroyer happens again. If the Kahlwhites would have recognized your claim, then this wouldn't happen. However in the current date they had all rights to not recognize it.

It also protect nations such as yours from international backlash if you sink a ship in waters you claim is yours. With a treaty, we would all recognize that water, and would not be angry with your actions against the warship.

This treaty is necessary for the stability of the world.

However, comming to think of it. We think the treaty needs to set a international standard of x ammount of kilometers from shore to be recognized as territorial waters. Otherwise, nations will claim big chunks of the ocean and say that they are protected by the treaty.

Terripana disagrees with point 2a and 2ai. Our island is simply too small to stop people spying on us at any point in our waters.

Nations can only claim them if they are recognized here.

We agree to this treaty. We also agree to the fact that it should be the same length everywhere. If it blocks somewhere free passage then its up to the owner to solve it.

We agree with this treaty as it stands.

The Democratic Republic of Segerline wonders if we should make a official treaty and maybe discuss it in a world summit so the world can reach a agreement?
