President Romero arrives back to Terripana

As the President's aircraft slowly approaches Terripanan airspace, it's two escort fighters take off from the ground. The rendezvous with the airborne plane, and follow suit in formation behind: a bit too closer than usual. The pilot of the president's aircraft requests via radio for them to back away by a couple hundred meters. The pilot of one of the aircraft responds.

"We're not taking orders from you anymore. Leave this airspace, or you will be shot down."

Esteban leaves his seat upon being called to the cockpit by the pilot: "I am giving you one final chance to fly further away. Do it. Now." Again, the pilot responds very calmly - "And I am giving you 5 seconds to change course. 5... 4... 3... 2... 1..."

The machine guns on the fighter escorts spray the presidential plane with bullets. The left wing is completely torn off, as well as half of the right wing: it begins to spiral, and plummet towards the ground. One passenger is flung out of their seat as the tail also detaches from the rear.

The fighters return to the airbase after a final strafe run of the remains of the craft. TDC Vanity is seen approaching the wreckage in the distance, to check for any survivors.

200 soldiers from the palace guards open the main gates. Mechanized units depart their vehicles after leaving their barracks, and storm the building. Gunshots can be heard from outside; a medic is called into the building.

TDC Vanity finds no survivors. The wreckage of the plane is destroyed, and floating pieces are burned on-board ship. Romero's body is identified, and taken aboard. It is placed in a body bag.

284 members of staff are corralled into the gardens: 12 have been injured, and another 7 killed. A total of 19 pistols, and 1 shotgun has been seized from personal possessions. The bodies are zipped up, and taken away: the injured are being treated.

Contrary to orders, Vice-President Romero's body is hung from the rear balcony overlooking the courtyard. Military Police search that area of the building, and the people held responsible are also escorted into the courtyard with the other prisoners. The rear gates are opened and trucks are driven into the courtyard. Each prisoner is handcuffed and taken onto each truck in groups of 50.

The trucks stop at a small compound. The gate is opened, and they drive forward. Each prisoner is dropped off, and shown their cells. Mental and Physical health checks begin to be carried out, as well as administration tasks to segregate those who have committed crimes against the Terripanan people, and those who haven't.

Narcona is surprised by this turn of action, yet finds it strangely... inevitable.

It's a small world, news like this travels fast.

Having heard of this gruesome event from the diplomatic and commercial mission in Terripana, the Shahanshsh asks for reassicurations that no harm will be done to foreigners in Terripana, and that this is just a moment on the way to democracy.
