The Union of Segerline announce a return to the south pole

A collective of scientists in Segerline has announced that they will make an expedition to the south pole. This would be the first time in almost 80 years that a Segerlinen have done such a trip, and that trip wasn't to the exact south pole, but to an area many kilometers away from it. Their reasons for doing it is to start the exploration of Kerbin and that this would be a viable first step. There are also rumors about plans to create a research station there for use by the science collective. The expedition is planned to take a total of six months starting from today.

The group of brave explorers will reach the south pole on foot from the coast of the south pole. They will carry sleds with enough food to feed ten kerbals during a six month period, they also got a radio for communications with their partners on Segerlinen soil and ofcourse some cameras and camping equipment. A rescue party is on standby to rescue these scientists if anything goes wrong.

We would like to participate in the expedition. The I.E.S. could issue long range airplanes already tested in polar conditions, to support the ground party.

That would be great, we'll incoperate that in our mission plan.

We are proud to present you the C-40 Polar Flyer. Those planes served well on the northern polar cap during last year exploration, and we are sure will perform equally good in the southern emisphere.The engines are an innovative hybrid between a jet and and a propeller, pulling together endurance and power.

After nearly a months journey, the expedition has made some real progress. At the moment, the situation is nominal the supplies seem to be enough and no one has had any severe injuries. There have been some real bad weather during the journey, and today is one of the first really clear days there since the journey began.

The brave expedition has sent a picture home to Segerline to show that they are all fine. Now it is only two months left untill they reach the south pole where they will place the Segerlinen flag.
