Segerlinen Elections
With the constitution signed, it was finally time for the first free elections in Segerline in decades. With people agitating all around the country, so that they could ensure that they would be the ones elected. This would be a very interesting election and polls suggest that there will be close to if not entirely one hundered percent of the pople will vote this year.
For the elections, some factions have remained, but some has dissolved and some have emerged. The rules of the election is that you don't vote on a political party, but for the candidate himself. This means that the biggest factions can theoretically all get a candidate in the Gewerkschaft Kongress.

- Factions:
The Authonomists:
This faction has survived, and they are eager to lead the Union into its golden age. Its most prominent figure is still Heinrich Bardeman, who seeks to become Chairman of the G.K. They want the Union to rely on local militias instead of an standing army, but also want to create a national space comitté that will take Segerline into space. They think that a so called "League of Free Nations" should be established to defend all democracies in the world, and encourage cooperation between them.
The Nationalist:
With Martymer Hendersen in lead, they want Segerline to rediscover its nationalism. They think that the Segerlinen people has a special gift that shall not be taken from them, that they are in many ways superior to the rest of the world. Their reasoning is that the Segerlinen people are the only ones who have been willing to sacrifice so much in the name of freedom, they also use their past looking at the times where we were a giant trading empire, and use that as a reason why we are the best in the world. The members of this faction agree that the Union needs a big army in order to defend its people, and they think that a moral code shall be established and be put into Union law. They also seek to export the revolution around the world, where they would lead the freedom fighters and help them set up a government just like their own.
The Federalist:
With Urban Gerhart still as the most prominent figure, this faction has survived. They propose amendments to the constitution which will allow the Union to atleast become a federation, where the government would have a bit more power. They also propose a national currency to be created by the government and used through out the country. They think the national militias are a sufficient defence for the time being, but that we should rebuild the national navy and standardize the weapons of the militias. They also propose a national tax system where money would go directly to the government.
Other Factions:
There are more factions on the rise around Segerline, but they are not nearly as big as they would have a chance to get a representative in the government. However, the spiritualist faction may have a chance to get a representative in the government as soon as the next election.
- Current candidates:
These are the people that is most likely gonna get elected in this election:- Chairman of the G.K:
- Chairman of the G.K
Heinrich Bardeman:
With his high public support after have lead the revolution, he has big chances to get elected as chairman of the g.k. He seeks to establish better intergovernmental relations with the rest of the world, and cooperate with the ASDI.
Martymer Hendersen:
A stern nationalist, who managed to rally some supporters during the civil war. He aims to propose amendments to make the constitution more in favour of the Gewerkschaft Kongress and to "help the struggeling freedom fighters around the world." Although current polls indicate that he will not be elected, who knows... maybe a good speech or debate may get him elected?
Urban Gerhart:
With moderate support by the people, he seeks to expand relations around the world. He thinks that we should not hold grudge against the Kabudankan Federation or the UKK. He is also in favour of a stronger government, but does not want to go as far as the Nationalists.
- Economic Minister:
- Economic Minister:
Valdemaar Fürtzein:
Being a authonomist, he thinks the government should not meddle in the economic affairs too much. He thinks the resources the government should get should be from donations of the people who wants to see the project done. This would encourage the government to work with the people and not against them, and it would give the government more of a role as an organiser than a tax collector.
Adam Herzeitzen:
Being a Federalist, he thinks that the government shall have a small tax that should go directly to the national military and police force that should be erected to defend the rights of the people.
Erik Freidrichsen:
Being part of the nationalist faction, he thinks that a tax should be organised to fund a big military and police force. He also thinks that funds shall go to archeologists who seek to find evidence of the lost golden age of Segerline.
- Defence Minister:
- Defence Minister:
Otto Bismarck:
As an Authonomist, he thinks that we should focus on standardizing the militias. He seek to organise a collective that will sew the uniforms of the soldiers, develop a national firearm and expand the militias. He argues that a navy and airforce cost incredible ammounts of money to build and maintain, and that we should focus on projects to help us during a time of invasion on land.
Frans Haubslieg:
Being a Federalist, he thinks that just like the Authonomists, we should standardize the militias. However, he does not agree with that we should expand the militias, but they should remain at the status quoe in terms of size. He also think that we should focus on rebuilding our navy, however that it should not be too big. Instead we should focus on building highly modern ships just like the experimental ships that Red Sun Empire is designing.
Karl Bernedicht:
As a nationalist, he thinks the miltias should remain, however that they should be cut down in size to make room for the national military. He seeks to create a state of the art military with the latest technologies, he argues that such a big, highly trained and modern military will be the key to defend the rights of the people.
- Science Minister:
- Science Minister:
Albert Reinhert:
Albert is a Authonomist, and thinks that the government should not meddle in science affairs too much. However, he thinks that it can serve as an organising role, getting partners to sponsor science and getting foreing nations to share their scientific research with the help of our government.
Mathias Sverker:
Mathis is a Federalist and thinks that private collectives of scientists are good, but that the government should create a science department aswell for stuff such as military research. He argues that the government should research what benefits their area of control, that is the army.
Arthur Heidler:
Arthur is a nationalist and thinks that we should raise taxes to fund a science department in the government that will handle most of the scientific research when it comes to particle physics, rocketry and the like.
- Foreign Minister:
- Foreign Minister:
Valdemar Potenhausen:
Already having experience from his limited time as stand in foreign minister, he knows a thing or two on how things are done. He thinks that the role of the government should be to open up import and export oppertunities for the people so that they can export their goods and use the wealth they accuire to help the local Folksräte that they belong to.
Hans Valdt:
Being a Federalist, he thinks trade should be a organised thing. He suggests that those willing to trade their products should send those products to a local storage facility run by the government. The government would then sell it to the highest bidder and take a few percent of the income to use in governmental affairs.
Mikael Kioskmongo:
Mikael is a nationalist and thinks that the government should use the taxes collected to import certain hard to get products to the nation, and have the people buy it from the government. This way you could fund an army.
