Ceasefire called in the Oxuytharian Civil War

This morning the representatives of the legitimate Oxuytharan government and the Army met and agreed on a ceasefire to end the continuous guerrilla fighting that is destroying the country.

During the meeting, that took place under peacekeeping forces protection, it has been agreed that a ceasefire line between the Army and the Government controlled territories will mark the limits of the respective jurisdictions.

Athough it's hoped that, in the end, the two parties will set aside their differences and reconciliate, the following actions of the Southern Government put that in serious doubt.

The Government unilaterally declared that the newly republican Oxuytharan nation is to be called from now on the Communal Oxuytharan People's Internal Authorithy, and declared itself the only true succesor state to the Oxuytharan Kingdom. The northern military authority still has to answer the issue.

Kahlawian peacekeeping troops, amounting to the 1st Republican Guard Corp and some independent regiments, will mantain peacekeeping duties in Southern Oxuythar, until the new national armed forces will be able to relieve them.

Segerlinen peace keeping forces also operates south of the border together with the Kahlawian forces. A permanent military base in the region is planned.

Isaac Larue, the acting head of government in Northern Oxuythar, signs this agreement and hopes that our two nations may re-conciliate.
