Venatorian Elections

After the death of President Kane, new elections will take place in The Republic. The top parties are:

The National Front: A Centre-Right party, the recently deceased President was part of this party, as were all the other presidents. (all 4 of them)

The National Unity Party: Far-Right. 2nd most popular party

The Reds: Communists, have never achieved more than 10% of the vote.

The Red Moderate: Socialists, generally achieve a 15% vote.

The Red Coalition: Favors a balanced military and a revamp of the nations infrastructure with nationalization of key corporations.

Candidates

NF: Dubnyk Fornef Kane, Brother of the former president, direct descendant of the founder of the Republic. (All 5 Presidents of the Republic have been direct descendents of Our Founder)

NUP: Flurry Jogen, fascist, not much else to say, wants to increase military strength

The Reds: Communists, want to nationalize the economy, strengthen the military as well.

The Red Moderate: Lower Military spending and increase direct government investment into the economy.

The Red Coalition: Leader is a socialist with communist staff

After a top secret meeting, two communist officials and a socialist officially announce that their parties have formed into a new conglomerate, called the Red Coalition.

In recent polls, the Red Coalition numbers have jumped to a whopping 30% in the polls, with the National Front falling to a 45%. This sudden change has sparked major protests by The National Unity Party. The National Front, however, is still confident they will pull through in the general elections.

Major conflict between the National Unity party and The Red Coalition occur. The National Front disregards these. This causes some of its members to leave because they are ignoring the communist threat.

Communist riots occur in major industrial areas. Fascists respond by aggressively forming vigilante groups to quell these riots. National Police forces are unable to quell the riots.

The Congress of the Republic orders the major generals to clear the cities and restore order. However the major generals belong to the fascist party and they refuse. They in turn order their troops to arrest the communist leaders. They do not follow these orders however, as the soldiers themselves mostly are loyal to the current party. Finally, the congress meets with the major generals and they compromise. They will restore the order in the cities, however the communists will get harsher sentences than the fascists because they started then riots.

The communists get wind of this military expedition, and react to it by raiding nearby armories and preparing for the worst. It seems this is an open rebellion.
