Retention Rule

We all remember the anti-retention rule for nations, which means no re-using old nations.

Do we want to keep it? Or shall we abolish it?

I think we should have it for some RPs, and forbid it in others.

Care to explain further?

We all put our heads together and decide, a week before we start.

ABOLISH! ABOLISH THE RULE! CRUSH THE RESTRICTION! GIVE US FREEDOM!

FREEDOM TO THE OLD NATIONS! HAIL MEDWEDIA!

We should vote before each RP to whether we're allowed to use nations from past RP's, or the rule could simply be abolished.

Keep it. It was put in for a very good reason, it forces people to be creative and is a step towards getting rid of the "I am my nation and my nation is best" mindset that a lot of people have.

Creativity is like working very long on one painting instead of doing a rubbish one every time and spending only 1 hour on it.

You can't FORCE people to be creative. Creativity comes to you when it wants to come to you, not when it is forced to do so.

What nation do you prefer of those:

A.) A fleshed-out nation you've had for several RP's that you know well and are used to, which has been built creatively.

Or

B.) A new, undetailed nation that took you 2 minutes to invent and that is completely rubbish because of no creativity.

I would choose
C.) A new, well-created, high-quality nation that took you 2 hours to think of + 1 hour to work on flag.

I would choose A.

Medwedian, have you considered nobody might not have cared at first? Yet your continued pushing is making people move away from retention, considering you're reminding us of your constant nagging and whining.

I'd be up for removing it for a roleplay just to see how things roll. Of course, if no one wants to do that, I can't force people to. Heck, I'd re-use Kallifrey only in name, it changes literally every time.
