- The Battle:
- Some hours after the initial engagement, and the conquering of the city of Cortus (as well as it's surrounding area) by Raxiran Forces, both sides regroup and start counting up it's casualties. The Gladian force, now prepped and ready for a fight, begins moving west towards the hostile territory. The Raxiran Task Forces also begin moving to the east, leaving the main army behind to patrol the area and plan for the future. The Raxiran regiments begin a series of Recce patrols around Gladian territory to find Gladian military bases, airfields and docks, as well as any large threats and key positions. Both Task Force's missions are cut short however - following orders, they begin heading back to Cortis, after sighting the incoming Gladians.
The Gladians however, have other ideas. North of the mountain, 4 Armored Regiments open fire at the retreating Task force, and eliminate 2 Special Regiments, both AA Regiments and an AT Regiment. The AT regiment provides covering fire, and manages to destroy one of the Gladian Armored Battalions. The Standard Infantry protecting the tanks soon seek out their positions, and eliminate the final AT Regiment. Gladian Artillery behind the lines are called in to eliminate the special regiments, who are now exhausted and de-moralized due to the sudden amount of casualties. Only 2 of the Special Regiments manage to escape the shelling area. In the south, the second Raxiran Task Force is also met with Gladian bullets. With only 2 Armored Battalions, less casualties are dealt in the first few minutes of engaging. Only one AA regiment and a Special Forces Regiment is knocked out: The AT Regiments retaliate by destroying both Armored Battalions; the Special Forces Regiments also eliminate 2 Standard Infantry Regiments. The Gladian Anti-Infantry Battalions soon rain lead upon the retreating Raxirans though - three of the Special Forces regiments are killed, as well as the remaining AA regiment and AT regiments. The Gladian Bombers soon find their targets however, and eliminate the final retreating regiments from the northern and southern task forces.
