The People's Republic of Iyartae is a democratic republic with a highly communistic economical system. The republic has a focus on industry and has a Leninist ideology. Iyartae has a large, powerful central government with weak state governments. A new Premier is elected every four years.

Although Iyartae is officially a secular nation, the religion that is most prominent throughout the population is Pankerbism, with nearly 75% of the population stating it as their faith.

The lands of Iyartae were once inhabited by several kingdoms with close ties to each other. While the kingdoms shared a common culture and language, various historical rivalries kept the kingdoms as separate entities. Two hundred years before the founding of the federation, a major war broke out between the kingdoms. Lasting half of a century, the war devastated the kingdoms and nearly one eighth of the Iyartaen people were killed in the war. The brutal conflict finally came to an end when Merens the Fifth took the throne in the Kingdom of Fayualn. A tactical genius, Merens led Fayualn to victory over the other kingdoms and established an empire.

The empire thrived for many years after Merens unified it, with trade being established with other civilizations. Pankerbism came to the nation through missionaries and merchants and soon spread the be the most popular religious belief. After fifty years of peace, the empire was thrown into chaos with the attempted secession of Mourek. In an incredibly bloody conflict, the Mourekians fought off thousands of imperial soldiers and held out against the siege. After seeing the success of Mourek, other regions followed its example and the empire soon crumbled.

Several decades after the empire fell, democracy was brought to several of the outlying kingdoms by philosophers who had traveled to foreign nations. The incompetent monarchs were overthrown by the peasants, who were largely successful due to the nobility backing them. These newly founded republics allied with each other and formed the first Iyartaen Federation. The Federation soon came under threat by the neighboring kingdoms, who saw it as a threat to their rule. After gathering their forces, the kingdoms declared war on the Federation and attempted to annex it. Iyartae sought help from several overseas nations, who provided help in fighting the kingdoms. After the intervention of these foreign nations, the Federation was able to push the monarchist forces back and turned the conflict into a war of liberation. Several years later, the last of the kingdoms fell and the Iyartaen people were united for the first time under a democratic system. After unifying the Iyartaens under a single nation, the politicians quickly went to work at establishing the government system. These decisions were the foundation of the old federation. Until just mere months ago, this corrupt government stole money from the poor for their own wishes. The leader, Jaronas Capeder, was a cruel man who took money for building infrastructure and used it for whatever he wanted. Last year, a communist revolution led by Stalgruf was growing. When his army was ready, he launch a coup that destroyed the old government.
