Segerlinen Constitutional Congress
Now when the war is over, it is time to decide what path Segerline shall take. Delegates from all around the country has assembled in Lienenstein, a place which many consider the birthplace of the revolution. A rule has been set up so that those who have atleast 10 000 signatures from people supporting their ideas will be allowed to take part in the congress. This has resulted in weeks of agitation all around the country by people who wants to take part.
The congress is now long from over, and heavy debates are still raging. Often you hear slurs such as someone calling another a fascist, or a extremist. There have been three distinct factions that seems to have formed between the delegates.
Only time will tell which faction will get what ideas into the constitution, and many think that these debates will take many days more. Everyone can follow these debates live on channel two on their TV.
The congress is now long from over, and heavy debates are still raging. Often you hear slurs such as someone calling another a fascist, or a extremist. There have been three distinct factions that seems to have formed between the delegates.
- Factions:
The Authonomists:
This faction's most prominent figure is Heinrich Bardeman, and they think the Union should be a very decentrialized Union. Most of the power shall lay in the individual cities, whom shall be run by councils with ordinary people in it. They view the governments role to only defend private property, hold up law that is dictated by the people and to defend the Union from invasion, and forge foreing relations. They think the government should control the navy and airforce. They think the army should be composed of people's militias that should defend the revolution and take down the government if it grows corrupt.
This faction has been critized that they are extremist and naive. However that haven't stopped them from gainng the absolutely biggest supporter base at the moment.
The Federalist
This faction's most prominent figure is Urban Gerhart, and they think that the government should have a more active role. They recognize that the cities can have alot of self rule, but that the government should run the economy through taxes, and that they are the ones together with a parliament that should dictate laws. They also belive in a strong national army, airforce and navy that would defend the revolution.
They have been critized that they give the government too much power instead of the power to the people. Some more extreme Authonomists have even accused them of being full fledged facists. However, they still got a relatively large supporter base, but they pale in the face of the Authonomists.
The Democrats
This faction's most prominent figure is Oswalt Teiner. They think that the government should become more like a modern republic with elected representatives in the states, a fuctional national parliament, and that the states themself will not have much self rule. They belive in a strong national military that should be supplied with taxes, they also think taxes should go to welfare in various forms. They also propose a national school sytem that is regulated by the government.
This faction has recieved alot of criticism, such as that they are complete totalist and that they want the revolution to return into a BB state slowely but surely. They haven't really gotten much support by the voters.
Only time will tell which faction will get what ideas into the constitution, and many think that these debates will take many days more. Everyone can follow these debates live on channel two on their TV.

Re: Segerlinen Constitutional Congress
After many debates during the timespan of many weeks, the congress has finally come to a conclusion, the citizens have voted and the biggest factions got what they wanted to some extent. Now the next roadblock in rebuilding the Union of Segerline will be to actually elect the first government, which will take a few weeks too.
Never the less, here is the constitution:

Re: Segerlinen Constitutional Congress
We are glad to see that you listen to your people. May both our nations prosper!
Meanwhile all around Segerline
As the constitution is signed by the delegates in the congress, copies are being made all around the country. People at town squares and similar locations spread the constitution to the people. Many people hang the constitution up on their wall so that they can see what rights they enjoy every day. It is truely a good day for the Segerlinen people, once more they are free!
At local gatherings you can often see Segerlinens discuss the constitution with each other. Fireworks are being fired all around the country and the local militias dump their magazines up in the air. Discussions of a giant war monuments are set in motion. Many also agitate to become the first Chairman of the G.K or any other minister post. Buildings are being repaired, and make shift signs saying "Folksräte" are being made. Many eagerly join the discussions in their local council to dictate the laws that they want, or to oppose the laws that they don't want.
