The Segerline Daily Empty The Segerline Daily

Post by Guest Tue Aug 05, 2014 9:29 am

"Welcome to another broadcast of the Segerlinen Daily, and today we got two major news stories. First off, we start with the change of national capital and the seat of government. The public refferendum turned in favour for changing the capital to Lienenstein, which many consider the birthplace of the revolution. Lienenstein will also change name into Bardemanstadt to honour the leader of the revolution. During an interview with Chairman of the G.K, he mentioned that he was honoured.

In other news, Franz Haubslieg our Defence Minister has today announced the beginning of the standardisation programme. He mentioned that, quote 'Our military today is a nightmare if we would ever get into a war. All our equipment are from different nations and in no way standardized, we have no common training scheme nor any idea how to conduct a conventional war.' Therefor, military leaders has gathered around the country to discuss strategies for our Heimwehr and our soon to be founded Unionswehr. Foreign military advisors has been sent to Segerline to train our officers and give them advice on how a modern conventional war is conducted.

The standardisation is not just in tactics and strategies, but also logistical. Scientists that works for the Abwehrmacht have been testing the service rifles of various nations and origins that have been left over from the war. Rumors has it that they are trying to take the best of each rifle and try to make their own model, that is especially designed for warfare in Segerlinen conditions.

More on this, as the situation develops.

In other news..."

The kerb watching decides to turn of the TV and do something useful for a change.

"Welcome to a new broadcast of the Segerlinen Daily, as always, I am your host 'Albert Kiersinger'. Today our Defence Minister announced that the standardisation programme was complete. Uniforms, service rifles and much more was sent to the militias, they also have been given training in conventional warfare. The idea seems to be that they will aid the Unionswehr conventionally in a war, but then be able to quickly go into a guerilla war if needed."

Spoiler:

"The training of the Unionswehr is schedueled for after the next election most likely according to government officials. They mean that the Heimwehr will make due for now, and that we must focus on the navy and airforce first."

"Today the minister of defence announced the founding of the Unionswehr, Unionsmarine and the Aeroflotte. Three military branches that are not militias but highly elite soldiers. All around the country recruiting station has opened up and masses of young kerbs have gathered to serve their people and defend their liberties.

Military officials have in a earlier interview announced that they will have no problem reaching the 15 000 kerb limit of the Unionswehr. The factories around the country has started producing high volumes of uniforms and weapons, and many training camps scattered around the country now waits for the new recruits."

Today the unionswehr reached the 10 000 kerb mark. These rercuits have recieved the same level of training that an elite soldier would.

In other news, a massive war game between our armed forces and those of Kahlawia. It will simulate an amphibious invasion of Faktorien Island. The mobilisation sirens will ring but do not panic this will just be an exercise.

"Welcome to todays broadcast of the Segerlinen Daily. As always I am your host, 'Albert Kiersinger'. We have recieved news that the security messures to defend our homeland by the Abwehrmakt has increased. The reserves of the Unionswehr has been called up to report in to their unit. There has also been an increased of military exercises recently where the enemy is represented by 'an imperialistic power from the north east'.

A significant number of troops have also started to set up patrols around high value targets. The Heavy water plant of Faktorien is one of such places where you will meet a Unionswehr patrol.

We have tried to get a statement from the Defence Minister of the nature of this heightened security, however he has just given vague answers about defending us from foreign imperialism.

More on this as the situation develops."
