Menjari looks at the sword, and then at the face of the old kerb.

"Thanks, but I consider myself civilized enough to recognize that putting a pointy thing in your opponent body won't make you a notch more right than you were before.
"I'm also civilized enough to recognize that the office of the judicial duel is as idiotic as trying to reach the Mun with a stair.
"And, on top of that, I'm civilized enough to have pity of a person that has to use those means to win an argument.
"With your permission, now, we have important things to discuss here, things far more important than your nonsense. Let us work in peace, shall you?"

The New Arovan Prime Minister turns to his body guard and sighs: "And people wonder why we should have limited foreign contact"

"Arova. We established that we would protect you, but you never signed the deal, why is this?"

The Kyuxian representative leaves the room, goes out to the guards, changes gear and comes back. He is now equipped with a short sword and a trident parrying dagger on his left . He is also wearing a very light modern alloy armor, made more for mobility then protection. 

"Now this feels better"

Ten guards enter the room.

"Men. From now on, no combat gear of ANY sort, swords, daggers, armor, or even batons, are permitted in the meeting room. Now, its nearly 10 o'clock standard time. We have housing for all of your guards and whatnot. Breakfast will be served at 10:00 sharp. Remember, no combat gear tomorrow. "

The guards then proceed to begin leading the various leaders to their housing.

The senator gives the sword sheath back to the guardskerb, however the blade is still neatly tucked into his toga.

I can give up my armor, and my fighting gear. But nothing will make me give up my dagger.

The Marshal laughs, then hands the sword back the the Captain. "The swords go where we do. That much has been already said."

"I have nothing to hide! No weapons, carried by me."

He says and silently laughs.

The Kaeprusian representative arrives by yacht.

"My apologies, there were some delays. What have I missed?"

"Shameful cowardice and the defence of shameful cowardice."

"Another day in paradise, then, I suppose. That said, shall we get down to business?" The representative clears his throat.

"As I understand it, we are brought here to discuss three issues -- and, I suppose, a fourth, that being the occupation of the Imperium Aquitus. I have been authorized to speak on each of these topics.

"Firstly, on the topic of CICS-Portera tensions: The Republic of the Islands of Kaeprus strongly advocates the search for a diplomatic solution, and remains willing to host peace talks. We also suggest that a free referendum be held in the disputed territories, that the affected citizens might choose for themselves what they want.

"Secondly, on the topic of increased nuclear activity: The Republic of the Islands of Kaeprus condemns the development, testing and propagation of nuclear weapons, as they are devices expressly intended for the mass destruction of populated areas, and as such any possible uses are horrifying to consider. Any attempts to use these weapons to discourage invasion will simply result in the further build-up of nuclear weapons stockpiles.

"Thirdly, on the topic of the development of many space programs: The Republic of the Islands of Kaeprus offers its congratulations to those nations which have achieved such wonderful accomplishments in the realm of aerospace, though it has no intention to join in the race to those accomplishments.

"Finally, and perhaps most pressingly, on the invasion of Aquitus: The Republic of the Islands of Kaeprus is disgusted by the WPRP's suspension of Aquitan free speech and by its use of excessive force in uprooting rebellions in the nation, as well as by its seizure, however temporary, of all legislative, executive and judiciary government in the Imperium. While we have no plans whatsoever of taking military action, Kaeprus hereby offers political asylum to any Aquitan government officials or civilians who feel themselves to be oppressed under the WPRP's governance, and calls upon the WPRP to allow the people of Aquitus to hold their own free referendum and decide what they wish to do with their own country. You are, after all, a republic of the people."

With all that said, the representative takes his seat.

"Excellent point. You seem to be the only sane one in this meeting.. Ciiropoga will also give it's two cents on these situation.

CICS-Porteran tensions have been at a standstill lately. We, as the CICS, will not give up any land whatsoever to the Porteran landgrabbers. This excuse of them, 'protecting the Porteran minority' is absolutely unfounded. Porteran citizens are treated just the same as anyone Ciiropogan. In fact, they get immigration BENEFITS for the first year or so. A referendum will not be held, because our citizens and the Porterans living here have given no sign of protest whatsoever.

Nuclear activity is on the rise, unfortunately. The CICS holds its claim to not in any way contribute to the creation or detonation of these weapons of mass destruction. Our uranium is used in reactors, based on the sea, and soon on land. We condemn all those nations who have been testing these horrific weapons..

Space programs are proceeding excellently, although I'm sure that 70% of the goal by these countries is not scientific, but rather prestigious.

The CICS citizens are up in arms about the occupation of Aquitus. They're afraid of the fact that the same might happen to them, at any given moment considering how powerful the WPRP is. That might be another issue as well, the fact that the WPRP holds nearly half of the world's power at this given time. Nobody can oppose them. The CICS government condemns all actions on the people of Aquitus, and requests that the WPRP immediately moves out, WITHOUT puppeting them."

"May I remind both of you that the Aquitan government bought the first war upon themselves by attacking a nearly defenseless Iyarte, and that they renewed the state of war by blatantly disregarding the previous treaty--in fact, by declaring it null and void. Fair and free elections are planned as soon as possible, but these things take time. May I also inform you that there has been no mistreatment of the people of Aquitae, and that the WPRP is providing food, water and medical supplies free of charge to the population. As for your granting these exiles asylum, are you sure you wish to harbor kerbs who declared an unjust war of aggression with the intention of annexing their neighbour, almost immediately went back on their sworn word to end that war, and had every member of their senate who opposed them--they constituted a majority, by the way--murdered for being an enemy of the state?"

You could simply leave them be, considering their people are fine. They present no threat to you either.. You could, and did, stomp their military.

"Our occupation is there to facilitate the creation of a democratic, free and trustworthy government so such things cannot happen again. As for your citizens being afraid, we really see no reason why they should be. The Aquitans embarked upon a war of agression--something we are sure you would never do--and even then our forces did not set foot on their soil. It was only after they went back on their sworn word and created a state of war between us for the second time, violating the democratic rights of their people in the process, that we began our occupation, and, as I have stated before, the Council has assured me that the occupation will be as short as it can be."

"If you wanted a short occupation you would have left when we asked you."

"Tell us, what did you plan to do to the people you invaded?
 What we are doing is probably way better."

"We planned to incorporate their nation into the Empire, grant them semi-autonomy like the rest of the other nations incorporated over time, and then finally admit Iyartaen politicians into the Imperial Senate."

"And how is that better then what we did, we simply removed your capabilities to invade others? That is until you nulled the treaty"

"How fascinating! I love the hypocrisy in accusing us of illegally occupying a nation (when this is highly questionable) and the candidly admitting that you were planning to take the independence and self-determination from the Iyartaen People. A manual example of bipolar personality disorder.
"First of all, we are acting on the provisions that the Treaty of Aquitae gives us; secondly, the Aquitan government vacated the seat and fled in cowardice leaving the People on tgair own; thirdly the current government holding power in Aquitae is composed by the civilian governmental officials that stayed with their People, and that are entitled to hold the power on the grounds of the succession of powers stated by Aquitan laws; fourthly the WPRP forces are fully collaborating with them and are distributing free supplies and food to the population to help them endure the situation, while protecting them from terrorism sponsored by the cowards; fifthly I officially ask the UNK to form an international overseers corp to watch over the voting process in the upcoming elections and ensuring so the fairness and legitimacy of said elections.
"I say again, that the WPRP goal is to assist the Aquitan People out of this dark moment of their history, and then carry on with normalized and friendly relations between the two nations."
